At CARM we foster a sense of community and recognise that individually “we can’t help everyone but everyone can help someone”. By applying this philosophy and thanks to our wonderful team of over 100 volunteers we work together to reduce social isolation and improve the well being of others.

There really is no need for anyone to feel lonely or isolated.

You can help make a difference to those around you by becoming a CARM volunteer.

We currently have the following vacancies:-

Befriending volunteers are needed to visit people in their own homes for a chat on a regular basis. We have vacancies across the Romney Marsh, Tenterden and surrounding rural areas and would be delighted to hear from you if you could spare an hour a week and can help.

Meeting Point volunteers are needed to help run local groups which meet up to enjoy a cup of tea, a chat and provide speakers of interest. We currently have vacancies in Burmarsh and Greatstone and would be really pleased to hear from you if you could spare a couple of hours on a regular basis* (some groups are weekly, others fortnightly or monthly)

Reminiscence volunteers are needed to help trigger and share memories in a variety of care settings across Romney Marsh, Shepway and Ashford areas in both our musical and talking reminiscence groups. If you can spare some time and enjoy learning about the lives of others we’d be really pleased to hear from you.
